{Prologue; Come home Come home Cause I’ve been waiting for you For so long For so long And right now there's a war between the vanities But all I see is you and me The fight for you is all I’ve ever known So come home Oooh -- Come Home; OneRepublic ---> Addeh <---
Staring into the empty darkness, I laid in wait for something to happen. It was midnight, the start of a new day; deep in my heart I thought I was the only Wisher awake in all of Warriors Wish. I heard the light tapping of rain on my tin roof, and closed my hazel eyes. Maybe that would put me to sleep, make me dream, help me to escape from life for just a few more hours.
But it didn’t. I opened my eyes slowly, and decided I would never get to sleep. I sat up in my bed, throwing the blankets off me. I grabbed my crooked glasses and planted them on my face, slowly turning my body toward the edge of the bed. I grumbled, rubbing my eyes and stumbling out my bedroom door.
I wandered into my bathroom, quickly taking off my pajamas and putting on light blue jeans, a black tank top, my red sweatshirt, and my white converse. I ran into the living room, grabbing my purse. Digging deep into the dark blue bag, and I found my strawberry Chapstick. I put it on as I fled out my door, slamming it behind me.
It was pouring in the city, but I ignored the wetness of the very early morning. I simply narrowed my eyes to see where I was going in the heavy fog. I would’ve taken my black Harley, but my brother had decided to take it for a spin two days before; totaling it. My little baby was in the garage, and the Admin had taken away my brother’s driving rights for two months, also making him pay for the repairs, and also making him pay for the damage done to her office. She also told me to keep him under control.
I shivered at the cold that stuck to my skin as I walked aimlessly into the city, passing the large skyscrapers and penthouses of the oldest members. My house was not a skyscraper, it was not a hut like the newbie’s. It was pretty normal sized; it was all I could afford with my stupid job. I growled low, kicking a rock into the street. Not getting sleep was bad for me… Why couldn’t I drift off?! Wasn’t there anyone else awake at this time?!
Vroom. The noise echoed in my ears. A car was on the streets this early. I stopped in my tracks, staring into the darkness. It could have been a simple patrol car with a Mod inside, a crazy maniac, or another Wisher like me who couldn’t get to sleep. Two lights began to glow, lighting the street up. My eyes were trained just above them as the car slowly came to a stop next to me. The window rolled down slowly, and half the person’s face was covered by a shadow.
“Addeh,” a male voice said; sounding a bit surprised. “What are you doing up so early?”
“I couldn’t get to sleep,” I confessed in a sigh.
He raised an eyebrow. “Did you try listening to the rain?” I gave a nod, putting the hood of my sweatshirt up. “Well there’s no sense in getting wet!” The guy exclaimed. “Get in.”
“Uh, no, I have —”
“Get in.”
I gulped, walking to the passenger’s door and slowly getting in. He locked the doors, rolling up the window. The male began to drive into the morning, and I buckled my seatbelt. “Where are we going?” I asked him.
“I was going nowhere. I couldn’t sleep either, so I figured a nice drive would be nice.” He smiled, began to chuckle, then stopped as he turned a corner. “Do you want to go anywhere?” I shook my head slowly, looking out the windshield.
“No, wait!” I corrected myself, looking over at him. He slowed, his blue-gray eyes staring softly into my hazel ones. “I want to see a movie.”
“At midnight?” I blinked, seeing his knowledge. I sighed, staring out my window. “Well, if you really want to go somewhere, I know a place that’s… Not fun, really, but… It’s less boring than driving with me.”
I smiled. “Driving with you isn’t boring, Scary.” My friend rolled his eyes. “Take me,” I whispered.
He sighed. “Right. Prepare for a U-ie.” He turned the car around, making an illegal U-turn, the tires squealing against the pavement.

{Chapter One; Come home Come home Cause I’ve been waiting for you For so long For so long And right now there's a war between the vanities But all I see is you and me The fight for you is all I’ve ever known So come home Oooh -- Come Home; One Republic ---> Addeh <---
We pulled into his home’s long and curved driveway. It was smooth pavement, no bumps on it at all. The car — which was a two-seat thingy designed like a duck — drove easily around the corner, and I narrowed my eyes as I saw an outline of his dark house through the windshield, through the pouring rain, through the fog. Scarynose chuckled as he pressed a button on the stereo, opening the garage door. Smoke leaked from it; I glanced at him.
“What?” He asked, seeing my eyes locked on him.
“What’s with the smoke?” I was afraid his house was on fire.
“Scary effect.” His voice was bland. I could imagine him sticking out his tongue with my lack of knowledge.
But of course; I should‘ve known.
Not to offend his intelligence or mine, I simply said: “Oh.” I brushed my brown hair behind my ear, realizing I hadn’t combed it. I gulped, wincing. Hopefully I didn’t look to idiotic, over-tired, and creepy. I closed my eyes as we pulled into the smoky garage. Scary opened his door, slammed it, then walked at a quick pace to my door. He opened it, bowing. “You don’t have to act like a gentleman,” I told him when I got out, tapping him on the nose. He scowled, slamming the door behind me. I walked happily toward the door that led into a small hallway; I had been in some of his house before; but the smoke was new, of course…
I opened the door wide, and heard a bong noise. I look over at Scary, and he was holding his nose, scowling with what seemed to be pain. I blinked, a little confused. “Are you okay?”
“Fine,” he hissed, pushing me through the doorway into the hall. I took off my sweatshirt, put it on a hook; but he grabbed it. “I’m gonna dry it. It’s soaked, dude.” I nodded, slipping off my shoes. I walked into his home, smiling as he walked past me. I leaned against his piano.
“So what was that place you wanted to show me?”
He sighed, turning his head to look at me. The blonde male threw my red sweatshirt on his dark gray couch. “Follow me,” he said real low. I skipped after him as he walked slowly into another room.
The room was dark; there were no lights. There was a short table with a small phone on it. There was a large chair in the corner that was big enough to be a throne. I looked over at Scary, who was staring at a bookshelf. He was counting the books.
“Why are we in here?” Only silence answered me, and I scowled.
“Aha!” He cheered, yanking a blue book form the shelf. I was shocked when a hidden door right next to the throne opened slightly. Scary walked up to me, putting his hand on my shoulder. “That’s why, Addeh, dear. That is why.”
“So I see,” I breathed as he walked to the door and pushed it open. I followed him in, holding my breath. I prepared for instruments of torture, but let out a long sigh — from holding my breath, certainly not relief — when I saw there was a desk, a chair, and plans all over the place. There were blueprints of weird-looking contraptions. “You and Gloometh again?”
“Er… No. Never.”
“Oh, c’mon. I know about it, obviously. I just didn’t know you had this many of them.” I looked around at all the white and blue papers hanging on the walls, sprawled all over the desk, and the maps of Warriors Wish with red lines all over them.
“Gloom has so much more, Add. This is merely… a quarter of them.”
A blinked, gasping. “Only a quarter?!” Silence echoed in the small planning room. “Can we go to Gloom’s lab and see the rest?”
He took a step back, shaking his hands. “I’d have to kill you afterwards. Or she would kill you when she first saw you, slitting your throat. Then that girl would test some new experiments on me as a punishment for bringing you to her lab. Then she would wreak havoc upon all of the city, just because she was so angry that you saw, even though your dead body would be in her graveyard of many graves.” Scarynose paused, blinking. “I will never ever bring you to that… potion hell.”
I chuckled. “Right, right. I’ll never ask again.” I headed for the exit.
“Uh, wait. Where you going?” Scary took a step toward me.
I stopped in my tracks. “Home. I think I can get some sleep.”
“I’ll drive you.” I turned around to look at him. His eyes were… eager. It scared me.
I gulped. “No. I’ll get a cab.”
“But —” My stern look made him break off.
“No.” I walked out of the planning room. I heard him growl low behind me.

{Chapter Two; Lost 'til you're found Swim 'til you drown Know that we all fall down Love 'til you hate Strong 'til you break Know that we all fall down -- All Fall Down; One Republic ---> Cheesey <---
Take a step forward, take a step back. “Oh, hey, what was that?!” My light blue eyes set upon the most beautiful sight: a red 2007 corvette. Oh how my heart beat fast as I took a step toward it. The time of day was nine AM, and I had walked all the way into town. Blizz, the wonderful Admin, had taken away from driver’s license, impounded my Elise and fined me; all for crashing my sister’s Harley into her office. What kind of punishment was that? I should’ve gotten a lot of jail time for that!
As my feet glided toward the red beauty, a smile set on my face. I dreamt about how awesome it would be to touch it. As my hand reached out, I thought I was going to explode.
“No!” A voice snapped, slapping my outstretched hand. “My car.”
I looked up to see a girl with long black hair. A white kitten was sitting on her shoulder, scowling at me; so was the human girl. She had a small dagger in the hand that hadn’t slapped mine, and she slid it back into the pocket of her jeans. I eyed her suspiciously.
“What’re you doing?” She asked. “Touching my car n’ all.” I didn’t answer, I just stared at the black-haired girl with wide eyes. Suddenly, she burst into laughter. “No, I’m just kidding!” I let out a relieved sigh. Her kitten jumped off her shoulder. The girl opened up the car door, the white Persian jumping in. She slammed it and looked up at me, her dark brown eyes looking straight into my blue ones. “I know who you are.”
“Stalker?” My voice wasn’t serious.
She ignored my suggestion that she was stalking me. “You’re Addeh’s brother, am I right?” I was about to answer, but she kept on speaking before I could. “Hop in! I’ll give you a lift!”
“Uh, no, I’m fine.” I rubbed the back of my neck, looking down at the ground.
“Okays.” She opened the door. “I’m Splashy, by the way,” she added before getting in. I watched as she drove off, almost hitting a girl with brown hair. “Sorry!” Splashy called as she drove into the distance. I looked over at the girl she had almost hit.
“You okay?!” I called, walking over. She stared at me with her pale gray eyes. The pale girl looked perfectly fine; maybe just a little shaken up. The girl was wearing comfy-looking black T-shirt with the Mousefur Smile on it and faded blue jeans. She looked around five feet six inches tall; two inches taller than I was. As she didn’t answer, I spoke on. “What’s your name?” I shook my head as I added: “If you don’t mind me asking, anyway.”
She gulped. “D-Du-Dust,” she stuttered, smiling weakly. The girl didn’t look into my eyes; the pale gray orbs were trained slightly to the left, not making any contact with my eyes at all. She hadn’t even looked up when I spoke to her, even when she spoke to me — Dust’s eyes were simply trained on the ground to our left.
“I’m Cheesey. With an E.” Silence floated into the air as I stared at the side of her face while she awkwardly and blankly stared at the sidewalk. The uneasy silence continued for a few minutes until I spoke up once more, scratching the back of my head. “Do you have plans?”
Dust looked up at me, utterly confused. She tilted her head. “Hmm? P-plans, you ask?” I gave her a small nod, combing through my brown hair with my fingers. “Uhm… no. Why?”
I tensed. “Do you have a… um, a… car?” I closed my eyes tight, wincing.
I heard Dust shuffle her feet. “Ye-yeah. A Renault Megane. It’s black; p-par-parked over there.” She pointed to the black beauty.
My eyes opened. We actually made eye contact. I gulped. “Can I drive?” I was surprised when she tossed me the keys, span around, then began to walk toward the car. I froze, turning around to stare at the back of her head. Dust stopped in her tracks, turning her head to look at me.
“Coming?” I gave a shy nod, jogging over to her. I heard her chuckle as she got into the passenger’s seat and I got into the driver’s seat. Golly, I thought, I finally get to drive! Ha! As I began to drive down the road slowly, I heard Dust moan.
“What?” I asked.
“You are driving SO freaking slow!” I smiled, stepping harder on the metal. “THAT’S much better.” Dust rolled her eyes, shaking her head slightly.
“Used to driving with Scarynose?” I remembered my experience in the Duck-Mobile. It sent so many shivers down my spine, it wasn’t really funny.
She laughed. “Oh, yes, yes. How fast are we going?” She glanced at the speedometer. “Whoa! Seventy already?!” Her voice raised an octave.
“I can handle cars well.” I smiled devilishly, leaning forward. She giggled. “I hope you don’t mind going to the skull museum…”
“Uh, the what?” She stared at me with those eyes, and I swore she was going to leap at the steering wheel and get us in an accident.
“I’m just kidding!” I shouted before my nightmare could come true. I blinked as I looked over at her. “Where would you like to go?” I asked her, raising my eyebrow. She tucked her brown hair behind her ear, and I stopped at a red light. First time for everything.
I heard her stomach growl. “H-how about… br-breakfast?”
“Sure! We can go to Flint and Mai’s Diner!” I paused, glancing at her. “So what did you do this earlier this morning?”
Dust’s eyes became wide, and she rubbed a bandage on her arm.

{Chapter Three; When you smile, I melt inside I'm not worthy for a minute of your time I really wish it was only me and you I'm jealous of everybody in the room Please don't look at me with those eyes Please don't hint that you're capable of lies -- First Date; Blink 182 ---> Dust <---
My eyes opened quickly as I heard a banging at my door. “Coming!” I yelled, hoping out of my bed quickly. I glanced at the clock: Six AM. Who in the world was banging at my door at six in the morning?! I sighed, hoping I didn’t look too ridiculous, and ran out of my room; grabbing my bathrobe and wrapping it around me. I hopped down the stairs two at a time as the banging got louder and louder, faster and faster. “I said I was coming!” I screamed.
I jogged to the door and opened it wide. I gasped, taking a big step back. “Oak!” Standing in my doorway was Oak, who had blood all over her. Her brownish-blonde hair had been ripped out of it’s usual ponytail, her jeans were cut into shorts. The jewelry she wore was gone. “What happened?!” I asked as she fell; I caught her.
“No time,” she gasped. “You need to bring me away!” I dragged her into my house, shutting the door with my foot. I took Oak into the living room, laying her down on the couch.
“I’ll get some band —”
“No, damn it! Just get me out!” She thrashed on my couch, blood spewing everywhere. Some splattered on me.
“Where?! Where do you want me to take you?!” My voice was panicked — I had no idea what in world was going on this morning. Oak raised her hand pointing to the window. I looked where she was pointing. “My car.”
“Get dressed. You don’t want to look suspicious…”
I gulped, then ran up the stairs into my bedroom. I quickly got changed into my black Mousefur Smile tee, and faded blue jeans. I rubbed her blood off my face with a sweatshirt hanging on my wall. I ran back downstairs, racing into the living room. Oak was staring blankly at the wall with those brown eyes that were planted in her head. I picked her up slowly, jogging out he front door. She moaned as I ran to my car. She opened the back door with and I put her in. I got in the driver’s seat. “Where to?” I asked.
“Anywhere! Take me anywhere but where VillX and Gloometh are!” I looked back at her.
“VillX and Gloometh?”
“YES! Now drive, woman!” I hit the gas, backing out of the driveway. “Gah! Watch out! They’re here!” Before I could stop, I backed into something. It was only a little jolt — hopefully nothing was damaged. I looked back to see a 1979 Camaro. I blinked and I looked at the license plate: VillX Rulz. I gasped as my trailed up and I saw the driver.
“Gloometh?!” I exclaimed, seeing her in the driver’s seat of VillX’s car. I saw the mad scientist begin to laugh. I scowled, putting the car in ‘drive’. My gaze finally saw VillX in the passenger’s seat. “See you!” I called, waving. I hit the gas metal, my car driving back up my driveway. “Hold on, Oak!” I yelled as we burst through the fence separating my lawn from Moon’s.
I gulped, hoping the Soul Eater was gone already and did not detect me running over the lawn; rutting it up. I heard her guard dog Goliath. (I had memorized the sounds he made — living next to the Soul Eater… did things to me.) I screamed as my car burst though her fence, and I was out on the road. I began to drive toward town. “What in the name of StarClan did you do?!”
“It wasn’t my idea to break into Gloom’s lab!”
“Why is VillX with her, and why in the world did you break into her lab?! You have to have a death wish to try and break into there!” I scowled as I drove.
Oak sighed. “I was going to get paid before everything went wrong. Gloom hypnotized VillX to be her slave… A guard for her lab, I guess. Like she needs one of those — there are already a lot of traps there.” I saw her roll her eyes as I looked in the review mirror. “I set off an alarm, and VillX beat me up. I got away — thank God — before Gloometh got to me. But now she wants to kill me.” Oak shivered.
“Of course, you idiot!” I banged the dashboard. She flinched. “Were you completely mad?! Whoever was paying you was not paying you to break into Gloometh’s lab — they were paying you to die! Slowly and painfully, I might add.”
It was silent for a few moments. “Hawkstar’s house is in town. Bring me there… I’ll take the burden off you.” I gave a nod, speeding up. I couldn’t wait to get this lunatic out of my car. By saving her, I was putting my life on the line too. I was beginning to get very impatient, speeding up; the speedometer was inching past one-fifty.
“Aha!” I exclaimed, seeing Hawkstar’s house. I pulled over right beside of it, took the keys out of the ignition — shoving them in my pocket, quickly running to get Oak out of my car. I dragged her out with one arm. I got to Hawk’s door and banged on it. He opened it. His blue eyes were warm… welcoming. But there was no time. “Here!” I shouted. “Take her. She’ll explain everything. I have to go.” I left her on his porch and jogged back to my black car.
I opened the door, only to feel… pain. I looked down at my arm, screaming. A dagger was sticking up out of it. Tear springing from my eyes, I ran down the street after slamming my door shut. I ran until I got into an alley; there I fell over. I yanked the dagger out of my arm, screaming with the agony it brought. I found a bandage in my pocket, I don’t know why it was in there, but I sloppily put it on the wound.
Then I put my head on the ground and almost immediately knocked out.
I opened my pale gray eyes. I was still in the alleyway I had fainted in. I blinked slowly, sitting up. My arm was numb… I could barely see. I stood, stumbling onto the sidewalk. Something red flashed in my eyes, and I took a step back, squealing. As I focused, I saw it was a red corvette.
“Sorry!” The girl driving called.
“You okay?!” I heard a boy call. I looked over to see a boy with blue eyes and brown hair running to me. I stayed silent. What if he worked for Gloom? There was silence as he studied me. I stared at the ground. “What’s your name? If you don’t mind me asking, anyway.”
I tensed a bit, gulping. “D-Du-Dust,” I answered, smiling the best I could. I didn’t want to look like I was guilty. I still didn’t make eye contact with him.
“I’m Cheesey. With an E.” I gave the smallest nod — he probably didn’t even notice. Cheese… he was Addeh’s brother, maybe… Or was he her boyfriend? I couldn’t exactly remember at the moment in time. “Do you have any plans?”
I hadn’t been focused on the moment. “Hmm? P-plans, you ask?” He nodded, combing through his brown hair. He seemed… uncomfortable. So was I. “Uh… no! Why?”
“Do you have a… um, a… car?”
I shuffled my feet as Cheese closed his eyes. “Ye-yeah. A Renault Megane. It’s black; p-par-parked over there.” I had to search for it, but I saw it right outside Hawk’s house. Where I left it. Now why was it still there…?
I made eye contact with him. I froze; I swore my heart stopped. “Can I drive?” He asked. I saw eagerness flash in his eyes. Maybe, if Gloom finds me, she’ll shoot the driver first.
I smiled, tossing him the keys that were in my pocket. I began to walk toward my car. I stopped to look at him. “Coming?” I kept on walking before I saw him nod; I figured he did, since I heard him jog beside me. We got in the car, I wanted him to get out of town. I moaned when he was going slow. “What?” He asked.
“You’re going SO slow!” I complained; I was impatient to get out — be safe. I rolled my eyes and shook my head; sighing.
“Used to driving with Scarynose?” He casually asked.
“Oh, yes, yes. How fast are we going?” I looked at the speedometer. “Whoa! Seventy already?!” That boy obeyed orders. I was shocked.
“I can handle cars well.” He leaned forward and smiled. I leaned back, trying to relax; I ended up giggling. “I hope you don’t mind going to the skull museum,” I heard him say. I looked at him. I wanted to strangle him. Gloometh would certainly want to look at skulls! Perhaps steal one for research. I was tempted to take the steering wheel.
“Uh, the what?” I snapped.
“I’m just kidding!” He screeched. Cheese looked worried — I saw a hint of it in his light blue orbs. “Where would you like to go?” I sighed. Anywhere! Take me anywhere but where VillX and Gloometh are! I remembered Oak’s words.
I made a growling nose that sounded like my stomach. “H-how about… br-breakfast?” I actually wasn’t hungry at all. But the boy’s eyes lit up at the thought of breakfast with me. I shivered.
“Sure! We can go to Flint and Mai’s Diner! So what did you do this earlier this morning?”
I rubbed my bandage. “Oh, nothing. I just… fell out of bed.” I scowled as we drove on.

{Chapter Four; If there's so much I must be Can I still just be me The way I am? Can I trust in my own heart Or am I just one part Of some big plan? -- We Are One; Lion King 2 ---> Splashy <---
“Sorry!” I called after turning the steering wheel to dodge who I thought looked like the Wisher known as Dust. I winced, but began to laugh. I missed her! She wasn’t hurt. I stopped at a red light and looked back to stare at her. Dust was now talking to Cheeseh — oh how wonderful. Fluffy meowed happily, and I smiled. “Good Fluffy.” I patted her on the head. She began to purr, waving her tail in the air. “Oh, yes. We will visit Moon! I have the souls she wanted in the back. Maybe it‘s a good thing Cheese didn‘t come and drive with me.” I thought for a moment.
The tires squealed as I made a sharp right turn on the pavement. I hummed a song — I wasn’t exactly sure what — as I drove toward the Soul Eater’s house. She paid me one dollar each soul I gave her, so that meant I would get five bucks! I was planning to buy myself a couch once a I had enough money. My last one had been destroyed when my army of ducks attacked Addeh, who had been sitting on the couch at that time. She was trying to steal my muse again.
I giggled at the memory, and Fluffy made a noise that sounded like a giggle. I smiled happily as I kept driving on, still humming that unknown song.
As I pulled into Moon’s driveway, my face became shocked. The fence was broken, and there was ruts in the lawn. Goliath was standing guard outside the house, snarling. “Stay here, Fluffy.” I got out of my car, got the souls out of the trunk and walked up to Goliath. “Moon here? I have her souls.” He nodded slowly. I smiled, walking into her house. “Moon!? I have your souls…”
She appeared out of no where, Tigerstar by her side. “Thank you,” she murmured, taking the box out of my hands that contained the souls. “You get five dollars — go insane.” She handed a bill to me. I squealed, put it in my pocket, then sternly glared at her as she sat down.
“What happened to your lawn?” I asked, sitting down on the chair across form hers; pointing out the window and to the ruts in her lawn.
“Dust; my neighbor. I have no idea what got into her!” Moon bit into one of the souls angrily, it making a disgusting squish sound. I shivered as she noisily chewed and swallow the bite. I watched as it slid down her throat. My face became warm and I flushed. It was just so… disgusting to watch her. She usually waited until I was gone.
“Hungry? Angry?” I inquired, leaning forward. Moon made a very angry face. Tigerstar hissed, his fur puffing.
“Yeah, Splashy. And when Dust gets home, I’m going to have Goliath bite her head off.” She rolled her eyes, taking another bite out of the soul.
“You may get charged with murder.” I leaned back, putting my hand on my cheek to look… smart, I guess. I wanted to look smart. Moon probably thought I wasn’t quite all there. I shook my head extremely slowly, knowing no one would think that.
“I’d like to see the police try to step a foot on lawn!” The brown-haired Soul Eater yelled. “Get out! NOW!” I jumped out of the seat, running out the door. Tigerstar was on my heels, chasing me away. I got into my corvette and drove toward town.
Fluffy frowned; she seemed concerned. “Oh, don’t worry — Moon’s just grumpy that Dust rutted up her wonderful lawn and crashed though the fence. It’ll pass once Dust is dead.” Fluffy gave a confused nod. “Moon eating that soul made me hungry. Let’s go to Flint and Mai’s Diner.” My white kitten jumped up and down, purring.
I drove super fast, really wanting to get their breakfast special. I giggled as I pulled into their parking lot. I parked close to the door and ran in, panting as if I were a dog. I burst through the door. There, behind the counter, stood Flint — her long brown hair up in a ponytail. She smiled at me, her smile warm and welcoming. “What can I do for you, Splashy?” She asked, standing up straight and took her iPod headphones out of her ears.
“Breakfast, of course, Flinty,” I laughed. Flint nodded, tapping a bell. She came out from behind the counter as Mai stood behind it to take her place. Flint led me toward a small table for two, and I sat down. The tall diner owner got Fluff’s highchair and put it on the seat, and the kitten jumped onto it.
“You guys going to have the usual?” We both nodded. “Right — cream puffs and chocolate milk for Splashy, and Kitty Chow with a small bowl of milk for Fluffy. Got it.” Flint walked away, dipping her head. I smiled at Fluffy as she smiled at me.
I was about to speak, but I heard someone talking behind me. I listened. “No, Cheese, it’s not that… I just really don’t want to talk about her.” I blinked, wondering who the voice was talking about.
“Fluffy,” I whispered. “Pretend you’re talking to me.” The Persian nodded. I listened carefully to the voices. The voices… sounds like a horror movie…
“Dust,” a male voice whined. “I would really like to know about her. Adder hangs out with her all the time. It’s just… she seems to mysterious. I don’t want my little sister in danger every time she goes to Gloom’s house.”
I leaned back in my seat, pretending to cough. So Dust and Cheese were talking about Gloom the mad scientist. This was to interesting to miss. “There’s nothing to worry about,” Dust said rather calmly. “Gloom is friends with her, I promise Adder won’t get hurt.”
“How can you promise that?” Cheese’s voice was down to a whisper — it was extremely hard for me to hear. I heard Dust scoff.
“I’ve had enough. Let’s go.” I heard them get up and leave.
Flint came over with our meals. She set them down in front of us. “There you go. Enjoy.” She left.
I stared at my cream puffs for a moment, then looked up at my kitten. “Fluff, I think I know who we should visit next.” Fluffy looked up from the Kitty Chow. Her expression was surprised; certainly wondering who it was. I simply answered her in a low voice.
“Gloometh Silverblade.”

{Chapter Five; So far away we wait for the day, For the lives all so wasted and gone; We feel the pain of a lifetime lost in a thousand days Through the fire and the flames we carry on! -- Through Fire and Flames; DragonForce --- > Flint < ---
“There you go. Enjoy,” I cheerily said to Splashy and her white kitten Fluffy. As I walked away, I heard what they were saying. I had placed a very tiny listening device on Splashy’s plate. I listened hard through my headphones that weren’t actually from my iPod. I walked into the kitchen and picked up a glass.
“Fluff, I think I know who we should visit next,” the black-haired girl was saying to the kitten. “Gloometh Silverblade.” I dropped the glass; it shattering when it hit the floor. I stood there, astonished. I wondered if the girl had a death wish. I heard Fluffy meow. “I know, Fluffy, but… we must. You heard what Dust and Cheese were saying! We have to go talk to her. I want to see what danger Adder might be in… It would be interesting to see inside Gloom’s lab, too.”
I grabbed the broom and swept up the pieces of the water glass and throwing them away. The Persian was meowing furiously. I couldn’t understand, so I just leaned up against the wall.
“Gyar?” I heard Tweak say. I looked over at him, smiling.
“I’m just listening to music. How about you clean those dishes over there? I’ll have to go in a bit, actually… But not home. You can ask Mai to take you home. I know you like riding Rain.” Tweak nodded, going over to the sink. I smiled and listened harder to Splashy.
“Right, whatever. You stay in the car, I’ll talk to her. C’mon, let’s go.” I stiffened as I heard them get up and go. I raced out the back door, waving at Tweak. I tore the headphones out of my ears and whipped out my cell phone. I dialed Waspsting’s number.
Ring. Ring. Ring.
“Hello?” He answered, his voice serious. “Wait, let me guess — this is Flint, isn’t it?” I grunted, angry he knew, as I got on my moped.
“Yeah. What, you got caller ID now?” There was silence as I balanced the cell on my shoulder as I braided my hair. “Don’t answer that,” I finally said. “Anyway, I have information that’s important. Splashy is going to talk to Gloometh — she wants to see in her lab.”
Wasp coughed. “What?! Does that lady have a death wish or something?” I knew it was a rhetorical question, so I waited for him to continue to speak. “I’m sorry, but I can’t come to your aid. I’ve got Lupa here right now… Though, her information has to do with that mad scientist also. This might be related.”
“What is it, sir?” I asked as I took off toward Gloometh’s overly-large house.
Waspsting coughed before speaking. “Lupa claims Oak tried to break into Gloom’s lab earlier this morning. The suspect then ran to Dust for help — then Dust took Oak to Hawkstar’s home. She is currently hiding in that guy’s basement. We’re going to find out why in the name of God Oak would try to break into Gloom’s lab. We think it has something to do with a personal problem with the mad scientist, Oak was hypnotized by HF, or someone paid Oak one big sum of cash to do that.” I nodded, grabbing my helmet in putting it on. I curiously wondered why I didn’t put it on before I set off…
But I shrugged. “Heard. Splashy said to her kitten: You heard what Dust and Cheese were saying; so I think Dust confided in Cheese about finding and protecting Oak from Gloom.” The guy on the other end grunted; the grunt that he usually made when he nodded.
“Are you going to Gloom’s house?”
“Affirmative; I am going to the scientist‘s lair. Should I continue the operation?” I stared ahead and saw Splashy’s red corvette.
“Go ahead, Flint. Just remember — don’t get yourself killed. I need you alive.”
I nodded; a nod he would never see. “Yes, sir. I promise you I’ll come back before tomorrow.” I stopped at a red light.
“You’d better.” Waspsting hung up, and I grunted. I kept pace with Splashy for a while, then sped past her, hiding my face. Leaving her stuck in traffic, I sped toward Gloometh’s overly-large home; hoping she was there. I chuckled, thinking about the look on the scientist’s face once she saw one of us at her door again… Though she didn’t know I was part of the Agency, did she? Well, there were rumors that Gloometh knew everything. I shivered as I made my way over the small bridge to her long driveway into the dark forest.
Ha. Dark forest.
I finally saw her dark blue house in my sights. It was standing tall against the tree-clouded sky. I parked a few yards from the door and jogged there. I didn’t want my moped to explode. That… haunted-looking house seemed intimidating. No, not seemed — was. I knocked slowly on the large door. “Gloometh?” I put my visor up.
It opened slowly. The scientist’s icy eyes were narrowed, and she seemed very angry. “What?” She growled, opening it wider. “What do you want, Flint?”
I scowled to look determined. “I need — no, I have to come in. This is urgent.” Gloom glanced to her left, thinking for a moment, then gestured for me to enter. I nodded politely as I walked past her, entering the light blue palace. I took my helmet off, setting it down on a brown table. The girl chuckled behind me, and I followed her into the living room.
“So?” She asked as we sat down in the blue-and-black room. “What’s on your mind, Flint? Why are you in my… wonderful home?” I coughed, sitting down on her couch. I shifted. “Need a drink?”
“No,” I spit out immediately. Training had told me never to drink something Gloometh or anyone working for and/or working with her offered. That meant Scary, Adder, and… “VillX?” I asked, seeing the boy step into the room. Gloometh made a clicking noise with her tongue, and he disappeared. I was about to speak, but Gloom’s phone rang.
“Gloometh’s residence — how may I serve ye?” I didn’t need to strain to hear the other person on the phone. They were screaming at the top of their lungs.
I only heard a bit though. The person was going way to fast. “…up my lawn! I need some of that poisoned stuff! Something dangerous I can slip into her food! I need it NOW.”
The scientist rolled her eyes. “Nope, sorry. I don’t trust you, plus she’s Scary’s friend — and she hasn’t done anything bad to me. Goodbye.” She hung up and glared at me. “Cookies?” I shook my head. “Chocolate?” I shook my head again, closing my eyes. “Want to pet my dragon?” I shook my head yet again, really not wanting to go near a dragon.
“Gloometh, I need to tell you something important.”
“What then?”
I took a deep breath. “I think… I think there’s going to be an interview with you, and I don’t want you to kill her. I need you to act… normal. The last thing Warriors Wish needs is a mad scientist on the news.” Gloometh’s look said: Who? I sighed. “Splashy, WWNT.”
“Splashy from Warriors Wish News Team. Lovely.”

{Chapter Six; When you smile, I melt inside I'm not worthy for a minute of your time I really wish it was only me and you I'm jealous of everybody in the room Please don't look at me with those eyes Please don't hint that you're capable of lies -- First Date; Blink 182 ---> Dust <---
We had just finished our food. Cheese burped with satisfaction, then gulped the rest of his giant cup of hot coca down. I smiled at him, and smiled back at me. His face looked so innocent, yet I had a bad feeling deep inside me that he wasn’t as good as my heart told me he was. Something was wrong, something he had done or he was covering up for someone. I sighed. “Hey, Dust,” Cheese spoke up. I nodded. “I was wondering if you knew anything about… Gloometh Silverblade?” I almost puked up my food.
“Yeah, I do know stuff about her… I just don’t want to talk about her,” I managed to choke out that sentence, but I wasn’t sure how long I could talk about the person who was out to kill Oak and I. Who stabbed my arm and chased me, making me rut up Moon’s lawn. I had a feeling I was going to pay for that, too.
Cheese folded his arms. “Is this about Scary being her friend?” He hissed, a scowl upon his face.
“No, Cheese, it’s not that… I just really don’t want to talk about her.” I rubbed the back of my neck, remembering my close encounter with Gloometh the scientist.
“Dust,” the male whined. “I would really like to know about her. Adder hangs out with her all the time. It’s just… she seems to mysterious. I don’t want my little sister in danger every time she goes to Gloom’s house.”
I rolled my eyes. “There’s nothing to worry about,” I tried to say calmly — there was a lot to worry about, actually. “Gloom is friends with her, I promise Adder won’t get hurt.”
“How can you promise that?” He whispered, leaning forward. I was taken aback by that comment, so I scoffed; rolling my eyes at the same time.
“I’ve had enough. Let’s go.” I got up, grunting, and Cheese followed me quickly after leaving a tip on he table. We got up to counter and Mai was there, smiling at us. I didn’t have any money, I looked over at Cheese, hoping he did. He smiled smugly, my look obviously telling him that I was broke at the moment.
He chuckled, rolling his eyes happily. Something about that look he had made me think I was living in either a soap opera or one of those happy family shows where they all got along, and the most minor of problems shook them up; all the characters were perfect in every way. “I’m paying, Mai. How much?” She smiled and pushed some buttons on the register.
“Twenty dollars and seventy-two cents, please, Cheese.” I giggled at the rhyme. The male snickered and took a twenty and a one dollar bill out of his wallet.
“Keep the change, but some food for your animals out back,” he said, handing her the cash.
“Thanks!” Mai cheered. “Have a nice day!” Cheese and I walked out the doors and got in my car. The guy was still smiling as we drove off, but I had a more uncomfortable look upon my face. I noticed that I had no idea where he was taking me, and for a moment I had the insane thought he was going to take me to Gloometh’s home.
I coughed, clearing my throat. “Where are we going?” I asked him, looking over at him. He didn’t look at me as he responded, his voice low.
“My house.” I nodded slowly, leaning back in my seat. I was silent the rest of the way, and he was blabbing on about some new video game he got and how he had to defeat some emperor before the three minuet timer ran our and the spaceship blew up or something…
Once we got to his home, I smiled. It was a very small place; painted light blue on the outside. About the color of his eyes. As I walked up the walkway to the door, Cheese fiddled with his keys to try to find the right one. He explained that he had lived in many apartments, and kept the keys to all of them. I blinked slowly, knowing he could easily break into them; it wouldn’t really be breaking in at all.
When he finally got the door open, I smiled again; giggling. The inside was painted all orange, and the place was a mess. There were pizza boxes everywhere, empty soda cans piled in the corners. I laughed as I sat down on the couch.
I looked over at Cheese. He smiled at me, walked over to the couch and sat down next me. “Want to watch TV?” He asked me. I nodded slowly. The boy smiled, picking up the remote and turned the television on. I wanted to scoot away from him when he put his arm around my shoulders, but I was on the end on the couch; he was pressing me against the arm. I gulped silently, glancing at him. The smile on his face was… scaring me. I began to sweat.
“So, you have a sister? You were worrying about her involvement with Gloom at the Diner.” I spoke out, giving a small nod. Maybe something would get him to let go.
He nodded slowly. “Yeah. Her name’s Addeh, like I told you before. She doesn’t hang out with me much… She’s a chocoholic germ-freak, and she just wants to sanitize my house.” I laughed. He laughed along, squeezing me. I began to cough, choking on what seemed to be… air. Cheese patted my shoulder. “You okay?”
I gasped. “Yes!” I squeaked. “Perfect, even. I was just… dying.” I chuckled, and so did he. I stared into his eyes; those light blue orbs of his eye sparkling. I closed my eyes, hoping that I would open them to see my room. To see that everything that had happened was a dream.
But this day turned into a nightmare, if wasn’t bad enough already.
Suddenly, I felt Cheese’s hands on the back of my head, and I was pulled toward him. I felt his lips press against mine. At first, I stayed completely still. I was so shocked. My eyes opened and grew wide, and I pushed him away from me; he flung to the other side of the couch. I stared at him, gasping for air.
“What. The. Hell,” I said. Cheese stared at me. “What was that?”
“A kiss,” he told me.
My eyes rolled. “I got that part! But why?!” There was silence for a few moments, except for my heavy breathing due to my shock.
They boy gulped. “I think… I love you. No, I’m sure I so.” My eyes because wide and I leaped off the couch. He got up too, grabbing my arm. I whirled around and slapped him, but he didn’t seem to react. I found it a bit hard to breathe. “Dust,” he sighed.
“Let go of me,” I growled. But he just pulled me toward him, slapping my lips on his. I tried to get away, but his hands forced me against him. I wiggled, trying to get out of his grasp, but he really wouldn’t let go. I moaned, waiting for him to stop.
When his lips finally came off mine, he smiled. “That was… great.” I was about to object, I was about to scream at him. But once again he pulled me toward him. This time my mouth was open, for I was about to speak, and he kept it that way. I felt his breath in my mouth, I felt his lips moving on mine. Soon, I felt his tongue slip into my mouth.
That was it. I scowled, then kneed his… to put it nicely, nuts. Cheese flung away from me, and I fled. I leapt over his groaning body; but he grabbed my ankle. I fell to the ground, banging my face into the wall. I grunted, holding my nose. It was bleeding. “Damn you, Cheese!”
“You just… say that… ‘cause you’re bleeding.”
“And because you kissed me!” I growled, trying to get away.
“Don’t move.” That wasn’t Cheese’s voice. I looked up to see Moon there, glaring at me. I remembered to the morning when I had crashed through her fence and rutted the lawn. I was going to die — I saw a raged look in my neighbor’s eyes. I closed my eyes, thinking of how I should’ve gone about my morning differently…

{Chapter Seven; Shut up when I'm talking to you Shut up, shut up, shut up Shut up when I'm talking to you Shut up, shut up, shut up, shut up I'm about to BREAK -- One Step Closer; Linkin Park --- > Moon < ---
I furiously dialed the number in my phonebook. It only rang once then the girl answered, her voice sounding more angry than I was used to; I wondered what was up with her. “Gloometh’s residence — how may I serve ye?”
I coughed before screaming at the mad scientist, my voice full of rage. “Dust rutted up my lawn! I need some of that poisoned stuff! Something dangerous I can slip into her food! I need it NOW.” I huffed and puffed.
There was a pause. “Nope, sorry. I don’t trust you, plus she’s Scary’s friend — and she hasn’t done anything bad to me. Goodbye.” I was about to speak, but the line went dead.
She hung up on me. Gloometh hung up on me. I growled, chucking the phone across the room. I grabbed another soul — the last one — and angrily bit into it. “Fine. I’ll just go eat her soul… Then have Goliath rip her apart. Yeah, yeah. Then… I’ll have Tigerstar kill her too. Perfect plan.” I stood, laughing. But I stopped, staring into space, my eyes trained on nothing. “No, no, no… I want to do this myself. I want to look into her eyes as she falls to the ground and pays for what she did to my wonderful lawn.”
I snickered, finishing the soul that Splashy brought in one bite before stomping out the door. Goliath looked at me, concerned. “No, I’m sorry — I must go alone. And don’t worry, I’ll be safe. I’ll Whistle for Tigerstar if I need help. Stay here, get some rest…”
I ran and jumped into my blue Mustang. I drove off, wondering where Dust could be. I figured I’d just sniff out her soul — she was my neighbor, I had smelt it so many times I knew the distinct aspects of it… The thing wouldn’t be hard to find. I wondered what it would taste like… Maybe sweet, maybe sour? What about apples… I loved souls that tasted like apples.
I shook my head, popping my head out the window to scent Dust’s soul. It was more… hmm… pungent than others. I could clearly smell it now; I smiled with confidence. Dust was going to pay for being a little… jerk. I was going to show her Moon style. Moon style was wonderful. Moon style hurt, I could assure that…
I snickered as I sped up, my nose twitching from smelling my target. I was so close… I couldn’t wait until I sunk my teeth into that girl’s soul. She deserved it, she had it coming. Dust had to die. She had to pay for messing up my lawn. I wasn’t going to think twice — she should have known what I do to people who do bad things. It was wrong to rut up my lawn; it wasn’t her property. She had no right to cross it, I didn’t give her permission!
I growled, baring my teeth at the though of Dust. I spat in disgust. Darn, I just wanted to get this over with. But I wanted her to suffer; learn her lesson in pain. A lot of pain; so much pain, I wanted her to scream for mercy.
I drove onto Cheese’s lawn — Dust was inside his house. I jumped out of my car, racing to the door. I burst it open and watched silently as Dust and Cheese screamed at each other. Or, at least, Dust screamed at Cheese. “You just… say that… ‘cause you’re bleeding,” Cheese said, wincing in pain as he spoke.
“And because you kissed me!” She growled, trying to get away from him. His hand was grasping her ankle, and Dust’s nose was bleeding. I wondered what fun I had missed.
I smiled. “Don’t move,” I ordered. Both of them looked up at me, Cheese’s eyes full of confusion, and Dust’s full of fear. She knew what she did. She knew she was guilty, and she knew why I was here. I smiled smugly. “Let go of Dust,” I hissed. Cheese let go. “Go into your bedroom, lock the door, and cover your ears or I‘ll put you in so much pain, your grandchildren will feel it. Not to mention I‘ll kill Dust, too.”
He stood slowly. “No,” he hissed. I cracked my knuckles, growling. “I won’t leave you a lone with Dust.” I saw the girl roll her eyes. I jumped at Cheese, putting my hands around his neck and shaking him. I dragged him into his bathroom and banged his head on the sink, then threw him into his bedroom. I took some superglue out of my pocket and superglued his lips shut, then kept on kicking him until he passed out.
I walked angrily back into the living room and glared at Dust. “Stand, you stupid lump,” I growled, my voice lower than ever.
Dust stood, scowling at me. “Let me explain, please. I rutted up your lawn be —”
“NO! I don’t care why! Any reason you give me won’t be good enough. No one ruts up my lawn and gets away with it!” I jumped at her, and she simply closed her eyes. My hands turned green and so did my eyes, and I reached into her body. She screamed, tensing as I grabbed her soul. She began to twitch as I pulled it out of her body; it making a squishing sound. She fell as it came out of her chest, she sighed as she hit the ground. I just laughed.
She opened her eyes, tears streaming from them. I bit into her soul; tasting the wonderfulness. It tasted like biscuits with butter. I chuckled, shoving it in my pocket. Dust moaned and coughed as I leaned next to her. “Please, Moon,” she whispered; her voice barely heard. “Forgive me.” I shook my head.
“What you did is unforgivable.”
“I ran over your lawn! I didn’t kill someone you love, or a rob a bank! All I did was drive across a stupid lawn!” After she spoke these words, I growled, punching her already bleeding nose.
“STUPID?!” I picked her up by her shirt collar, then threw her across the room. She crawled over to Cheese’s phone and dialed a number. I ran over to her and yanked her away before she could speak. I kicked her stomach as she tried to rip out my hair.
“Scary!” She screamed. “Go to Cheese’s house! Now! Qui —!” I punched her gut, and she coughed. I picked her up and threw her again, jumping after her and breaking her arm. I picked up Cheese’s couch and smashed it on her leg, then throwing it into the wall. I didn’t want to smash all of her… “Moon,” she murmured, “please…” I shook my head, picking her up and throwing her into the TV.
I chuckled. “Scary won’t do anything to me. I’m his friend.”
“I am too,” Dust croaked. She sighed as she stared at me; blood all over her. I smiled as I walked over to her. I picked her up and whispered some last words to her.
“See you in hell.” Then I bashed her head against the wall once time, two times, three times, four times… I smashed her head five times against the wall. Blood leaked form the back of her head, and she coughed up blood one last time as I let go of her.
As I walked out of the house, I didn’t regret anything I had done.

{Chapter Eight; I'm a clever teapot, yes it's true Here's an example of what I can do I can change my handle to my spout Just tip me over and pour me out -- I'm a Little Teapot; Nursery Rhyme --- > Scary < ---
The phone rang, making me flinch. I looked over at it from where I sat in my chair. I raised my eyebrows and walked over to it, picking it up. “Scary’s home; no I am not planning to take over Warriors Wish, how may —”
“Scary!” The person on the other line screamed before I could finish my sentence; the voice sounding oddly like Dust. “Go to Cheese’s house! Now! Qui —!” I heard banging noises and growls. Then there was a pause, then chuckling…
“Scary won’t do anything to me. I’m his friend.” It sounded like Moon’s voice. I dropped the phone, racing out the door into the garage. I jumped into the Duck-Mobile and set off, the tires squealing. Moon and Dust were fighting. Wonderful — I had to go and break up the fight. Those two would most likely kill each other; and since it was at Cheese’s house, he must be there too.
Dust and Cheese and Moon fighting together did not seem very great. I winced at the thought in my mind. Then I gulped, turning on the radio. Classical music poured into my car, and I smiled. The fight would probably be sorted out when I got there, and all I would have to do would be to talk to Moon about the anger management classes, warn Dust about Moon’s anger, and tell Cheese never to stick around when Moon was angry. But who started the fight? What if Cheese and Moon were fighting, and Dust tried to break it up? What if Cheese and Dust were…
No. Moon was probably the one doing the fighting. I hissed at the fact that I was so far away from Cheese’s house; I mean, I think it would be fun to watch them hurt each other. I patted the stapler in my pocket, smiling. I hoped none of them got seriously hurt, but I doubted this argument would last much longer. I mean… what could it be about? It’s not like Dust and Moon were fighting over Cheese!
I laughed, stopping at a red light. Once it turned green, I hit the gas and zoomed forward, laughing like a maniac. I left the intersection in the dust as I drove toward my friend’s house. I was sure Adder would want to hear about this fight at her brother’s house… But I hadn’t talked to her since way earlier this morning, and she hadn’t left my home on good terms. Maybe showing her that room was a mistake… I hadn’t been in my right mind at the time. I shouldn’t have even suggested taking her to the room, I knew the girl couldn’t resist a secret, couldn’t stay away from a temptation. Every time I told her that I knew a place, it seemed irresistible to her. She just had to go, she couldn’t be left out of it. One of her… bothersome qualities.
Of course, it was my fault she really wanted to go to the room. I sighed as I pulled into Cheese’s driveway. There was tire marks on the lawn, and the door was broken down. I blinked slowly as I got out of the Duck-Mobile. I entered the home, looking around. Immediately, I gasped with shock. Dust was on the ground, blood on her and all over the place. So much blood… I felt like my life had entered a horror film. I ran over to her, kneeling next to her.
“Dust!” I yelled, putting my hand on the back of her head. But my hand became wet, and I pulled it away; seeing that it was now red with my friend’s blood. “No, Dust…,” I breathed. I placed my two fingers on her throat, checking her pulse.
Nothing. Dust was dead. Really, truly, honestly dead. Gone. Like, forever.
Or not forever…? I raised my eyebrows, remembering one of my close friends — the one who happened to have a lot of potions, and that one of those potions could bring Dust back to life… Hopefully fully, and not zombie-like. My mind traced back to TUB. I winced as I picked Dust up, because blood was dripping out of her head. There was a pool of it on the floor. I felt like throwing up, but held it inside as I walked out the door and put her body in the passenger’s seat.
I jumped in the driver’s seat and sped off. I couldn’t waste any time — I really wanted to get this done. I didn’t want to get caught by the police speeding… They would think I killed Dust! That would go on my record.
Not that my record was great anyway, and it wasn’t about to get any better. I just didn’t want Dust’s death on it, or Addeh’s, or Cheese’s, or Moon’s, or Gloom’s — anyone I was friends with, for that matter. I didn’t want any of them to be dead. Sure, a nice stab here and there I wouldn’t sob over; but death… Why, if I hadn’t thought of Gloom’s potions, I would still be in Cheese’s home; calling the police or something.
On the way to Gloom’s home, I pondered if I should call Moon and question her about my findings. But I wasn’t sure I should do that; I would be put on her target list. No… I was her friend, she had even said that to Dust. I drove faster, though Gloom’s home was on the other side of town. I growled, stomping harder on the gas pedal. I just wanted to get to the scientist’s home, I just wanted to see if she could bring Dust back to life. My hopes were building on top of each other; bring Dust back to life, apologize to Addeh, have a party with Cheese.
He really wanted to have party where he played all of his Jimmy Movies. A determined glare set on my face as I drove through the center of town, speeding past red lights. Car horns honked and people screamed as I made my way to my buddy’s house, where hopefully Dust would be helped. If she couldn’t be helped, I just crashed those two cars for nothing. I smiled as I began to drive the long driveway, crossing the bridge. I grumbled angrily as I hit a rock, Dust flinging up and falling over. I took one hand of the steering wheel and shoved her back into a sitting position.
I saw Gloom’s house, and I parked right next to the door. I jumped out, seeing a Red Corvette and a moped in the driveway too. I raised an eyebrow, then picked up Dust — carrying her to the house doors. I slung Dust over and shoulder and knocked — no beat — on Gloometh’s door, screaming: “Open this door or face consequences!”
The door flung open, showing Gloom’s face. She had a devilish smile on, and she was holding a dagger. “Scary! How wonderful to see you on this fine day. How may I help you, sir?” I growled low, taking a step forward as she spoke. She nodded, and opened the door wide for me to enter. There was a broken glass on the ground, coffee spilt everywhere. There was a helmet on the ground, and a pair of keys. I looked up at the girl in wonder, my blue-gray eyes meeting her narrowed icy blue ones. She shrugged, her feathered wings moving up too. “I had some visitors.”
I blinked slowly. “So I see.” I walked toward her lab, still carrying Dust.
“You know, I’m the one that should be staring at you in wonder. It seems you’ve kill someone, there, mate.” I stopped in my tracks, then looked back at her. A glare set on my face, and I clenched my free hand into a fist. “What?”
“I didn’t kill her,” I growled. “I’m pretty sure Moon did.” Gloometh let out a laugh, stumbling back a few steps. “I’m just going to go in your lab,” I said without any emotion. She stopped laughing, then raised her eyebrow. I took out the key and walked to the lab door, opening it. Gloometh followed me down, grumbling something under her breath. She stepped carefully in her black skirt, her blue boots tapping the stairs lightly as she followed after me.
Once at the bottom of the stairs, I set Dust’s body down on a table; throwing everything else off of it. Gloometh took a step back, staring at the stuff on the floor. She scratched her head, buttoning another button on her black shirt. “Okay, so, what do you want me to do? She’s… uhm… well… dead, you see, and I like it when they scream. I can see if my potions cause pain, you know, and if she’s dead I can’t —”
“I don’t want you to experiment on her!” I screamed, picking up a bottle and chucking it at her. “I want you to bring her back to life! Now!” Gloometh took a step back, the bottle held firmly in her hand. Then, she clenched her fist, the bottle shattering into pieces.
“Bring Dust back to life? Sure.” I watched her as she walked over to a bookshelf, pulling out a book. She opened it, then pulled a needle out of the large green book. She was frowning as she came over, and I took a small step back; something inside me made me feel that she was going to stab the needle into me neck. Gloom lowered the needle to Dust’s arm, but stopped. “No,” she hissed, pulling the needle away.
“What?” I snapped, taking a step forward. I was unlucky the table was separating us, but Gloom was lucky for it.
“I won’t do it. I just won’t do it.” She paused, and I felt like picking up the table an throwing it across the room. Sadly, Dust was on the table, and the table was literally welded to the floor. “Scary, earlier today someone tried to break into my lab. Her name is Oak. VillX and I tracked Oak to Dust’s home — Dust was… taking her away. Protecting her from us. Dust was protecting a fugitive. That’s against Gloometh Law.”
“Damn Gloometh Law! Dust is my friend! Give me that needle!” I jumped over the table, swinging a punch at her. Gloometh just flew up, flying away. She took a dagger out of her belt. “You wouldn’t,” I hissed.
“I would,” she snarled as she landed softly a few feet away. I took my stapler out of my pocket, aiming it at her. She raised her eyebrow, a sneer on her face. “Let the fight begin!” She yelled as she threw the dagger at me. I shot a staple at it, the dagger going off course and hitting a glass bottle; steaming purple liquid leaking on the ground. I jumped at her, shooting five staples at her. She just chuckled, hitting the staples with her dagger. One of my own staples hit my arm; drilling in. I yelled out of pain, and hit a desk. Boiling green soup spilled on my arm, burning me.
“Gah!” I thrashed as the liquid ate away my skin, and my face turned red as I held my breath. I stood slowly, feeling so sick. I aimed the stapler at her; she was typing away at a keyboard. She chucked a bottle at me, yellow liquid pouring on me. It didn’t sting; it made my burning arm feel better. I looked up at her. “What?”
“I don’t want your arm to burn off,” she told me. “I just want you to know that I’m not going to bring Dust back to —” I leaped at her, shoving my hand against her throat. I pushed her up against the wall. She smiled as I put my hand in her pocket and pulled out the needle. I walked away from her, going over to Dust’s body. I put the needle on her arm, blinking slowly before I slid it in her arm, putting the fluid in her.
But before I could get all of it in, Gloometh grabbed me from behind, ripping me back; my hands ripping the needle out of Dust’s arm. The needle flung away into a corner as Gloometh flew me to the other side of the lab; away from my friend’s body. Gloometh pushed me up against the wall, and I growled low. I had also dropped my stapler. The mad scientist began to whisper to me. “Whose fault do you think it is — Dust’s death?”
I tried to get out of her grasp, but holy crud this girl was strong. “Moon’s. Moon is the one who… killed her.” I paused. “But why? It had something to do with Oak breaking into your lab, doesn’t it?” Gloometh narrowed her eyes.
“Dust ran over Moon’s lawn trying to get away from me.”
“So it’s your fault!” Gloometh shook her head slowly. “It’s Oak’s fault!” She kept on shaking her head, then she let go of me. She walked over to her computer and typed in a few words, then showed the screen to me. On the screen, it was showing Addeh and I in the planning room.
“It’s your fault,” my friend hissed. “If you hadn’t showed Addeh that planning room, she wouldn’t have told Oak to break into my lab. Oak wouldn’t have gone to Dust. Dust wouldn’t have run over Moon’s lawn. I wouldn’t have chased her… Moon wouldn’t have killed Dust.”
I blinked slowly. I walked over to Dust and picked her up, then left Gloometh’s lab; leaving the brown-haired girl speechless. She must’ve thought I would just keep fighting. But I walked back to the car, placing Dust in the seat. I sighed as I drove her slowly back to her house.
In fact, the fence separating Moon’s lawn and Dust’s lawn was broken. I carried Dust into the house, then walked up the stairs, then put her on her bed. I closed my eyes, but then a thought came to my head. My eyes shot open.
“It’s not my fault,” I murmured. “If Adder had gone to sleep, just gone to sleep, none of this would have happened.”

{Chapter Nine; Despite the lies that you're making Your love is mine for the taking My love is Just waiting To turn your tears to roses -- Whispers in the Dark; Skillet --- > Oak < ---
He nodded slowly as he sat beside me, thinking hard; I knew because his eyebrows came together and his eyes narrowed. He stood, walking over into his kitchen. I rubbed my hands together slowly and gulped as the morning replayed in my mind. I felt like I was going to explode.
“This is outrageous. Breaking into Gloometh’s lab is suicide.”
“Exactly.”
I shivered at the words that had passed between Addeh and I earlier. I rubbed my arm and licked my lips as Hawkstar back into the living room. I didn’t look up at him, and he leaned up against the wall, coughing. “Would you like a kiss, Oak?” My head shot up, and I stared at him with confusion and anger. I barely knew this guy! “A kiss…?” he repeated, holding up a bag of Hershey’s Kisses.
“Oh,” I breathed, glancing to my left. “Sure.” He smiled, walking over to me and holding out the bag. I grabbed three Kisses and popped them all in my mouth, throwing the wrappers on the coffee table. I glared and shook my head, my mind drifting off to Gloometh… I just couldn’t get her out of my mind. I kept on grabbing more and more of the chocolate candies until Hawk took the bag away. He smiled, a smile I knew as ‘holy crap you’ve had way to much’, and then set the bag on the coffee table.
I began to stare that the blank TV screen when there was a knock at the door. Hawkstar blinked, grasping my hand. I looked over at him, my eyes full of worry. “Get into the kitchen,” he warned, forcing me to stand up. I tossed me toward the kitchen door, and I raced into it. I began to dig through the cupboards for some sort of weapon, but when I heard someone yell and just grabbed the thing nearest to my hand; a cookie. I frowned, but stood slowly. I tiptoed to the wall and scowled as I opened the door slowly. I saw Hawkstar trying to reach his trench coat while pushing VillX away from him.
I growled low, chucking my cookie at VillX’s face. It hit his forehead, and he looked up at me, dazed. It was not meant to hurt him, it was meant to distract him. I smiled and waved as Hawk leaped at the trench coat and pulled out a small yellow box. Before hand could open it with a key that magically slipped out of his sleeve, VillX kicked it out of his hand.
“Oak go to the bathroom!” Hawk scream as he swung a punch at the brown-haired servant of Gloometh the mad scientist. I raced toward Hawk’s bathroom my heart pounding and everything on my body going numb. My face was frozen into a frown, now, a tear rolling down my cheek. I didn’t want Hawk to get hurt helping me. I feared for Dust; I had no idea where she was. I feared for everyone Gloometh came across now. I also feared the mad scientist would find out Adder sent me, and she would also be punished…
Not as great as I would, since Adder was Gloometh’s best friend. Probably a scolding or a spanking… Or one test run on her. But not death. Gloom would never.
Once I got in the bathroom, I sat on the floor and waited to Hawkstar. I had begun to sweat, and I breathed heavily. Not wanting to be defenseless, I began to look around the room for an object to defend myself. I found a few combs, but those weren’t sharp enough. Baby power could get him coughing, but it wasn’t enough to hoard him off. How to defeat VillX — he had a huge sword.
I heard feet pounding down the hallway, so I grabbed a bottle of rubbing alcohol and pointed it at the door. It flung open, Hawkstar racing in. On his head was a cut, blood dripping down his head. He slammed the door behind him and locked it, then stared at me. “What is that for?” He asked, his eyes locked on the bottle.
“To fight with,” I sighed, dropping the bottle to the ground.
“You don’t fight much, do you?” Before I could give him a short-tempered and sarcastic answer, he grabbed my arm and opened the bathroom closet. Or, what looked like a bathroom closet. Really, though, in there was a tunnel that was headed downhill. I couldn’t object as he pushed me in, racing into the darkness as fast as I did. There was no light, I felt so scared. My heart raced as fast as my feet as I continued into the shadows. My toes became numb as the ground became wet, and I felt Hawk grab my hand. For a split second, I felt so safe.
But we came to a stop, and I heard footsteps still going on. We weren’t alone… VillX had found us. I gasped, trying to look for my protector’s face. He grasped my hand tighter, leading me away. I trust him so much now — he had to get me through this. And I would help him however possible, I knew this too well. I grasped his hand, too, as we raced into a lit hallway. I clearly saw now that Hawk had led me into the sewers.
The wetness on the stone floor was sewage, and my nose soon realized a horrid disgusting smell lurking in the air. The concrete walls were gross-looking; covered in dirt and StarClan knows what else. My eyes scanned the area as we continued to run; I saw pipes, grates, and worst of all: rats. Their red eyes stared me as if I was a large piece of food that they could eat. Their tails lashed and their whiskers twitched. One of the rat’s nose moved back and forth as it smelt the air. I shivered, my hand squeezing Hawkstar’s so much, I looked down at it and it was red. He just stared at me with those eyes of his for a moment, then let go of my hand.
“Run,” he whispered. “Just keep running.” He pulled a magic wand out of his trench coat and pointed it toward where we came from. I just stood there, staring at the wand. He glared at me. “Go,” he ordered. “Don’t look back.” I sniffled as I raced away, the disgusting water splashing up onto my legs as I went. I heard Hawk yelled, and rats squeal there was an explosion, and I suddenly feel to my knees. They stung and thick shake-like liquid splattered onto my face and I began to cry stinging salty tears. All my mind did was move back to the early morning…
“I can’t do this. I’m going to die. And you know that. Why are you making me do this anyway?”
“Some people have to be sacrificed to find out the truth. If you die, it won’t be much of a loss to Warrior’s Wish. We’ll move on. No one will care.”
“How can you say that?!”
“Just go.”
The tears streamed down my face like a waterfall as I stood and began to walk toward the sounds of Hawkstar and VillX grunting as they fought. I began to race, and I finally saw them. VillX was holding up a long sword, and Hawkstar was holding up his magic wand to block it. The wand had blue sparks coming out of it. As I stumbled toward them, my foot hit a bump on the floor, and as I stepped on it, the button went down into the floor. I heard a rumbling sound, but ignored it as I grabbed VillX’s arms. He shook as I held onto him, growling low.
Hawk spit some harsh words under his breath before waving his magic wand in the air, but Gloometh’s assistant punched him before the twirl was complete. My… friend, I guess, fell and hit the ground, the wand flying behind him. Hawkstar scrambled up to go get it as I climbed up onto VillX’s back and put my hands around his neck. He threw me off, my body hitting the wall.
Hawkstar had his wand, and I stared with pain clouding my eyes as a gate was falling from the ceiling. It was closing… Hawkstar and I would be separated. I got up as quick as I could, and Hawkstar saw it too. He got up as well, running for the gate; his blue eyes wide and full of coldness and fear. Before the boy could get to me, the gate closed. VillX grabbed me, and I tried to fight to get away; yelling and screaming. I began to cuss as VillX pushed me up against the bars of the gate, showing the left side of my face to Hawkstar.
“NO!” The male on the other side of the gate screamed, gripping the bars. “Let her go! Just let her go.” He began to breathe heavily as a single tear came from his eye. I felt the tip of VillX’s blade on my back. I tried to shake my head, but VillX’s hand on my head was making it impossible. So I just stared into Hawk’s eyes. There was silence for a few moments, but then I whispered words he had told me.
“Run. Just keep running. Go. Don‘t look back.”
Hawkstar took a few steps back, then blinked slowly. I blinked back at him, and once my eyes opened, he was gone. VillX’s mouth came to my ear and he whispered: “To Gloom’s house we go.”

{Chapter Ten; We're leaving together but still it's farewell and maybe we'll come back, to earth, who can tell? -- The Final Countdown; Europe ---> Hawkstar <---
Speeding down, water splashing up onto my legs, sweat pouring down my face. She had been balling, I don’t even think she was aware of it — I only shed one single tear. Maybe I would still be fighting if she hadn’t come back. Maybe I would be dead. I couldn’t really decide which one was better for her, but I certainly knew which one’s better for me.
As my feet guided me deeper into the sewers, I couldn’t help but think I could’ve saved her. Something inside me felt like it had been my duty… That I had failed my task. My task had been protecting her, just protecting Oak. How hard could that have been? Why had it been so hard for me to just keep her safe?
I tripped on my own two feet and fell flat on my face, bad tasting water bucketing into my mouth. I spat, cursing as I tried to stand up again, but only lost my balance. I just sat on the floor on the sewers, the junky water flowing past me. I snorted, wrapping my arms around my legs and placing my head on my knees. I wiggled my toes as I sat there, my eyes staring down at the ground. I decided I would zone out. Perhaps I would think of a way to complete my task without getting killed. Without getting Oak killed.
All I could imagine, though, was Oak being tortured by the mad scientist. Potions going down her throat, IV’s attached to her arms, and saws turning on to chop of limbs. I gasped and shut my eyes tight, hoping all of this would go away once I opened them. Once I finally got the courage to open my eyes, I saw a rat in front of me.
“Shoo!” I yelled, slapping the rat. “Get away from me!” I wasn’t scared of the dumb animal, I was just furious. I wanted to be alone for a moment; even away form the rats. The rats kept on coming, though, sniffing me and staring into my eyes. “Go AWAY!” I screeched, standing up and kicking one of them. Another one squeaked, jumping up and trying to bite me. It nibbled my shirt. “Damn! Damn you stupid, stupid, STUPID rats!” I grabbed the rat on my shirt and chucked it, it squealing as it flung through the air.
I began to run away, my clothes sticking to me, for I was soaked in the smelly sewer liquid. I shut my eyes tight as I raced, until I hit a wall. A ladder. I fell back, my eyes bursting open. A snarl escaped my throat, as if I were a cat from Warriors or a vampire from Twilight. I jumped up, grabbing the ladder and pulling myself up. As I climbed, I gulped and didn’t look back down. All I could do was climb up. Up. Up. Up.
Couldn’t I go any faster?!
I had to get away… What could I do? I was alone, I couldn’t break into Gloometh’s lab by myself! I had lost my wand. I had no good weapon now. I lost.
I finally got to the top of the ladder, and I pushed hard on the thing blocking my way out. Once my hand broke through, the metal plate that was shaped like a piece of cheese flung away. I jumped up, landing inside of the house. My eyebrow raised — I was not the only with a tunnel to the sewers. I began to walk down the hall, my eyes looking up and down the walls. There were pictures of people, animals, buildings, and more and more and MORE people.
One picture had a guy in it; his smile as happy as the Firestar Smiley. His hair was short, dark brown, and his eyes were blue. Next to him was a girl with the same colored hair as him; in fact, she looked like him except her face looked more female, she was wearing glasses, and her eyes were a shade of green. They must have been… Twins, or something.
Most of the pictures with people were the same. Smiles, hugging, and laughter. There was even one were the two in the picture were covered in cake, and the male’s hand was in the female’s mouth. Another one, everyone in the picture was in their bathing suits, and they were in front of a huge lake; a boat to the left. So many pictures… So many people… So many smiles.
I left the hallway, walking into the living room. I gasped, taking a step back. Blood was everywhere… The TV was broken, the couch was ripped up. I blinked, my hands balling into fists then un-balling then balling again. I turned around, staring down the hall. “Hello?” I called out, taking a step down the hall. “Anyone in here?” I called out again.
Then I heard a banging sound. A muffled yell. I raced toward the sounds, opening a door. There, on the floor, was one of the males in the picture. In the picture where he looked like he had a twin. I blinked. “Are you okay? Your living room’s a mess.”
“Mmm, hmm. Hmm, hmm, mm, mmmmmmmm!” I stared. There was no duct tape on his mouth. I kneeled, my fingers scraping his lips. They seemed to be glued together. “Mmm. Mer. Moo,” he said slowly, rocking back and forth. His hands rested on my wet shoulders, and his blue eyes stared into mine. “Mmm. Mer. Moo. Moom. Mel.” I kept staring at him. “MOOM MEL MMM MER MOO.” I grabbed his wrists, dragging him out of the room. “Mmmoo!” He yelled. “May mo!”
I closed my eyes, my eyebrows coming together. I dragged him into the living room and let go. He stared, his eyes looking around. “Mus! Ma mus!” I took a pizza box out of the corner, give it to him, and grabbed a marker off the shelf.
“Write,” I ordered. “Why can’t you talk? What happened?” He wrote fast, his scribbles almost unreadable.
Moon superglued my mouth shut.
Moon must’ve killed Dust.
Help me.
I ran into his bathroom, opening in medicine cabinet. As my eyes scanned it, I wondered about all the weird things in here. Of course, there was men’s deodorant, Q-tips, a razor, a rubber duck, air freshener, toothpaste, baby powder. Arsenic trioxide. Then, there was nail polish remover. I took the remover and raced back into the living room, pinning the guy down on the floor. I poured the nail polish on his lips and said: “Don’t swallow. Rub.” I ran into his kitchen, pulling a soda can out of his near-empty fridge. I walked back to him, opening the can and pouring it on his face. “Spit it out,” I cautioned, some of the Pepsi getting in his mouth.
The boy spit, shaking his head. I stared at me and I stopped. “You’re wet,” he noted, blinking. I rolled my eyes, sitting down on the floor like L would, and stared into his eyes. He blinked slowly, I could see he was thinking. “Oh, I’m Cheesey.” He held out his hand for me to shake.
And I did. He smiled happily, nodding slowly. I smiled, too, but very weak. I was thinking of using this kid to my advantage. “Cheese, do you own a gun?”
His face lit up, and he smiled like a stupid dork. “YES! A giant machine gun I got for my birthday last year! My sister still regrets her choice.” The brown-haired male narrowed his eyes and smiled like the devil had come to visit me.
The devil visiting me, honestly, wouldn’t be all that surprising; considering all the other things that happened in this weird city named Warriors Wish.
“Cheese. How do you feel about breaking into a mad scientist’s lab to save a life? How do you feel about shooting a tall-ish, brown-haired, brown-eyed, pale, assistant to the mad scientist? Then rescuing a girl in distress? Then bringing her to Lupa’s home?” Cheese’s eyebrow raised at my question, then he chuckled.
“You want me to help you break into Gloometh’s lab, shoot VillX, save a princess, then bring the princess to a safe house?” I glanced to the left, thinking and wincing, then I nodded. I waited for him to say no and kick me out of his home. I waited for him to never talk to me again. I waited to know that I would never save Oak. I sighed, and closed my eyes. “Of course!” As he chirped these words, I gasped and opened my eyes. “A suicide mission sounds about the best thing I could do right now. I’m in.”
“Thanks,” I murmured as I jumped up, standing. He scrambled to his feet.
“I’ll get you some new clothes to wear… Then we’ll head out.” I nodded and waited as he ran into his bedroom. I looked around the home, seeing it must’ve been trashed even before the blood was spilled all over the place. Something smelt like biscuits and butter. I watched as the boy came back in the living room with a pair of jeans and a black shirt in his hands. I threw them at me. “My sister buys boy clothes. These are hers.” The jeans were ripped, and the shirt had duct tape on it.
“Are you kidding me?”
“No. My sister really likes to wear boy clothes, and she really likes to put duct tape on them. She’s a little obsessed with duct tape…” I smiled, chuckling as he turned around and covered his eyes. I changed into his sister’s clothes, feeling uncomfortable knowing a girl had worn these clothes before I had changed into them. I tossed my wet clothes into a pie on the floor.
“Let’s go!” I yelled, grabbing his arm and yanking him out the door. I was going to get my revenge.
VillX and Gloometh would pay.

{Chapter Eleven; Got to fight another fight - I gotta run another night Get it out - check it out I'm on my way and I don't feel right I gotta get me back - I can't be beat and that's a fact It's OK - I'll find a way It ain't gonna take me down no way yeah -- You Can’t Take Me; Bryan Adams ---> Gloometh <---
I stared into her eyes, smiling as my slave threw the girl in a cell. I shooed my slave off with a wave of my right hand; my icy eyes still staring into her brown ones. The eyes of my enemy were full of fear, glistening with beautiful tears. Her bottom lip quivered like she was a young child who had lost their grip on the big, purple balloon; and it was now drifting off into the vast blue sky, and their little fingers would never hold onto that string again. A small smile came upon my face, and the girl in the cell flinched back, water spraying from her eyes. I chuckled, crossing my arms over my chest. Oak blinked slowly, gulping and sniffling.
In a low, dark voice, I simply said three words to the frightened girl: “Welcome to hell.” Then, I walked away into the shadows; leaving her to silently sob.
My feet led me away, toward my lab so I could get some experiments going. I had just finished cleaning up since Scary and I had fought in it. I growled low at the thought… Why did he think I would bring Dust back to life? I mean, sure, Scary was my friend but… No. He was my friend.
Gloometh Silverblade Law: Gloometh shall not help anyone who has broken into her lab, helped someone who has broken into her lab, or has planned to break into her lab.
What was I supposed to do? Dust had aided Oak, who had broken into my lab. But Scary was one of my closest friends. My brain had begun to hurt as I worked it out, but I made a rational choice. I loved Scary as a best friend, but there was no other way I could’ve done that… I would’ve thrown Dust in my dungeon. Most prefer death over my dungeons anyway. I moaned, picking up a water bottle as I begun to fly into my lab.
Gloometh Silverblade Law: Gloometh may never harm, kill or hurt best friends.
Gloometh Silverblade Law: Gloometh must always protect her own existence.
Why did it have to be so hard?! Scary attacked me when I didn’t inject Dust’s body with that potion. I fought anyway… He’s my friend. I couldn’t believe I had held up my dagger. At least I stopped his skin form burning away. I scowled, taking a huge gulp of the water from the plastic bottle. I chucked the bottle in the corner, grabbing a test tube and pouring the contents into a Petri dish. I smiled. Phosphorus oxide; I loved the stuff. I blinked, putting on some rubber gloves. I picked up a murky yellow liquid and put one little drop on the phosphorus oxide.
It lit on fire, and I jumped back, putting my hand in front of my face. But as I lowered it away, I saw the orange flame dancing so wonderfully. I blinked, a smile stretching across my face. It crackled and sizzled as it roared on, a little burning flame… I wondered if it would burn forever.
And just as I was about to reach out to touch it, I heard a banging noise. “VillX!” I yelled, cringing with annoyance. “Stop banging! I’m trying…” As I turned around, I narrowed my eyes. VillX was hold a paper in his hand, his arm outstretched. He didn’t have to speak — it was a note. It flew over real fast and took it from him, ripping the envelope open after searching for the sender.
There was no sender. I gulped as I unfolded the note, then began to read the handwriting. It seemed to be written rather quickly, and on a rough surface. The note read the following:
Dear Gloometh Silverblade;
Surrender. I swear if you don’t, I’ll rip VillX’s head off. Then I’ll shoot you until you’re merely dust particles. You can’t stop me. I’m coming, girl, and I’m bringing backup. You’d better be scared. ‘Cause I’m not going to hold back.
Sincerely, Oak’s Protector
“Holy snap!” I exclaimed, looking up at VillX. “We’ve got fighters.” I paused, whirling around and chucking the note in the still-burning phosphorus oxide fire. The flames consumed the paper as I began to instruct VillX. “Protect Oak with all you’ve got. Her Protector’s coming to get her back. You said he was Hawkstar. Hmm. He’s got backup… He doesn’t have a gun. Who in Wish has a weapon that can shoot me ‘til I’m dust particles and rip your head off?”
He didn’t speak, but he gasped. He cleared his throat, shuffled his feet, and pointed to the computer. “No,” I cautioned. “I know already. Adder’s brother — Cheese. He has a machine gun, and a pathway to the sewers. You reported you left Hawkstar in the sewers with no way to get back to his own home. He must’ve found Cheese’s house and asked him for help…”
“Great thinking, ma’am,” the slave complimented.
I glared at him, my icy eyes locking with his. “Why are you still here?! Go guard Oak! Do you WANT Hawkstar and Cheese to get her back?! If they do, I’m going to rip your head off MYSELF!” I slapped him, and then he whimpered and ran off. I sighed, smiling. “I love my slave.”
I sat in a chair and took a dagger from my belt. I held it in my fingers, feeling the sharp blade between my fingers. I thought about how Hawkstar would go about his plan. I needed to get in his head… I needed to get in his perspective. If I were a Hawkstar, what would I do?
I leaned back, closing my eyes and sighing. I heard a lot of things ring in my ears and I lay in wait to fling my dagger at someone. I felt almost as if I could fall asleep…
Suddenly, my heart began to race and I whirled around in my chair, chucking the dagger across the room. “Gah!” Came a call as the male Wisher dodged my weapon. Cheesey was there, a giant machine gun in his hands. Just as I thought. The dagger was stuck in the wall, and Cheese was scowling at the sharp object. Then he looked at me, narrowing his eyes. “How did you know I was here?”
“I’m an expert at such things. I know.” I narrowed my eyes, too; a glare setting on my face. If looks could kill, Adder’s brother would be dead in an instant. Our blue orbs looked as he began to sneer some words that made my heart race even faster, my brain tried to work even faster. I wanted to lunge at him, but the time was not right as of yet.
“So everything I’ve heard about you is true,” he had snickered. My teeth grinded together as I jumped off my chair and landed on the floor next to it, crouching like I was a cat ready to pounce. I closed my eyes. I tensed as I sensed him moving.
Gloometh Silverblade Law: No Wisher or person may break into Gloometh’s lab and get away with it. This is punishable by death.
A snarl ripped out of my lips, and I leapt at the male. Machine gun fire went off, and I dodged to the left, banging into a table. I caught a test-tube and chucked it at him. He smiled and danced to the right, the test-tube crashing into another one. An explosion occurred and I snarled again, taking another dagger and tossing it not at him, but at a red button.
Deet! Deet! Deet!
The alarm set off and warned VillX that they had gotten in. Cheese winced at the loud noise and began to fire rapidly at me. I growled, racing around the lab to avoid the fire. My wing got shot, and I hissed with pain. I flung a dagger at him and it hit his arm that was holding the machine gun. He dropped it then fell to the ground, yelling.
He may have been great with his weapon, but he was a wimp at heart. I laughed — more a growl mixed with a laugh, so it was really creepy. Not to me, but I knew anyone else would find it the most shiver-down-spine-sending thing they heard come out of my mouth. I walked slowly over to Cheese and smiled. “Do you have last words?” I chuckled, raising a dagger in the air.
His eyes became wide. “No! You’re messing with the signals!”
I stared, lowering the weapon. “Signals? What signals?”
He blinked. “Forget I said that.” I blinked, too, nodding slowly. Then kneeled next to him and wrapped my arm around his shoulders.
“Gloometh Silverblade Law,” I began to recite. “No Wisher or person may break into Gloometh’s lab and get away with it. This is punishable by death.” He nodded and closed his eyes, as if he had been expecting death. Then, I stabbed his heart. I frowned, standing up and hearing his last whisper.
“Signals…”
Beep. Beep. Beep.
I took out my cell. “What is it, VillX?”
“Hawkstar’s attack the dunge —” I blinked, then began to walk slowly to the computer. This fight would be so fun to watch.
